TSU holds Teachers Night to honor educators

Themed "Joyful Hearts, Strong Bonds: Celebrating Merriment and Camaraderie," Tarlac State University celebrated its Teachers' Night on October 17, 2023, at the Kaisa Convention Hall.  

To ensure the enjoyment of educators as a way to say thanks for their service, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Office of Human Resource Development and Management organized a raffle and some performances from selected students and special guests. 

Tarlac City Mayor Maria Cristina "Cristy" Angeles also graced the event. She gifted the TSUian educators with the free utilization of the Kaisa Hall and additional cash prizes of 5,000 pesos each for four winners in the raffle draw. 

"TSU is not just a university. We can see that you are a family bound together by a common purpose. The bonds you share, both among the educators and between educators and students, are a testament to the unity of your academic community," Mayor Angeles said.  

Mayor Angeles also committed to supporting the growth and development of TSU and its educators.  

"Rest assured that the city government stands by your side, ready to collaborate and provide the necessary support to enhance the quality of education here at TSU," she added.   

Meanwhile, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg described the TSUian educators in her welcome message using four adjectives starting with the letter P – Patience, Passionate, Perceptive, and Praiseworthy. 

TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco also shared an inspirational message, highlighting the importance of teachers in making a difference in students' lives.  

"Fellow teachers, we appreciate (everything) you do. Nakikita ko naman po. You are the creators of knowledge, keepers of hopes, and guardians of dreams. Your legacy and your effect stay far beyond the classroom," Pres. Velasco said. 

Some members of the university's Board of Regents also joined the event, namely Hon. Dennis Norman T. Go, Hon. Reynaldo L. Catacutan, Hon. Douglas C. Ferrer, Hon. Lindley dela Cruz Santillan, Hon. Cherie Lyn F. Onia, and Charles Terenz E. Fernandez. (jlmm-OPA)
