Tarlac State University College of Computer Studies' students, Jireh Daquigan and Jenilyn Samson win the second and third place, respectively, at the AKAP 2023 Photography Contest in celebration of World Mental Health Awareness Month, who were awarded on Thursday afternoon, October 26, at the TSU Gymnasium, TSU Main Campus.
Tarlac State University’s Guidance and Counseling Unit (TSU GCU) organized AKAP which stands for "Always Keeping Awareness and Positivity," for this year's National Mental Health Month. The event featured a photography competition with the theme "Snapshot: Capturing Images of Hope and Positivity," focusing on "Mental Health as a Universal Human Right”.
The winners were selected based on their Facebook reactions, theme adherence, originality, creativity, and visual appeal. Daquigan from BSIT department claimed the 2nd prize, earning ₱1,500 cash prize for her photograph depicting the "take a <br>" expression which is popular among TSU CCS students.
Samson, a student of BSIS department, won the 3rd prize, receiving ₱1,000 cash prize for her photo titled "Malaya," which featured three children running and playing in the rain. Mark Gabriele Sampang of the College of Education, for her depiction of the perils and successes of studying hard, clinched the 1st prize of ₱2,000.
