Tarlac State University's College of Computer Studies student, Adam Francisco of BSCS sang his heart out, snatching third place in the AKAP: Song Writing Competition organized by the TSU Guidance and Counseling Unit (TSU-GCU) at TSU Gymnasium on October 26, 2023

To celebrate World Mental Health Month, TSU-GCU held the Actively Keeping Awareness and Positivity (AKAP) singing competition under the global theme "Mental Health is a Universal Human Right." where 5 competitors share their melodies of encouragement for the students.

Relating the theme to his own composed rap song, Francisco performed his heart out, singing his original song entitled "Bangon", which embodies this year's theme of AKAP to celebrate the Mental Health Month.

In an interview, Francisco shared that he wrote the song when he was feeling down and hopeless. He prayed to God for strength to overcome his challenges, and "Bangon" was born.

Francisco's rap is a call to action, urging the people to have the courage to face all the challenges in life and stand firm to overcome them. It doesn't matter how you fall down, but what matters is how you continue.

"Ilan beses man ako madapa, babangon pa din ako" he added.
