Microsoft has announced that they will no longer be offering unlimited storage to educational institutions.

From their website, they have stated that the significant increase in stored files, data, and unused accounts have proliferated without a plan for end-of life. Because of this, the company deemed it unsustainable from a cost perspective. They also said that it puts educational institutions and their students at risk for data breach.

Due to these changes to the Microsoft 365 pooled storage policy for educational institutions, all students, faculty, and personnel are encouraged to check how much data storage they are using and safeguard important files by downloading them before July 2025.
