Tarlac State University President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari awarded certificates of commendation to university key officials today, October 29, during the flag raising ceremony at the Lucinda Extension Campus.
The certificates presented commends the key officials’ efforts and contributions to the success of the recently held 113th Foundation Anniversary and 30th Universityhood Celebration.
President Mallari called the officials one by one citing their respective contributions.
Among those who were recognized are the Supreme Student Council headed by its President, Harold Hilario, and adviser, Dr. Winston Abalos, for the successful conduct of student activities; Ms. Jazzel Llaneli M. Manabat, OIC Director of Public Affairs, for the documentation and information dissemination; Prof. Fabian P. Seguira, Student Affairs and Services Dean, for leading the students in supporting the lined-up activities; and Prof. Marcelino Balanquit, Head of the Culture and Arts Unit, for providing the entertainment during programs through production numbers.
Also, the nine college deans were awarded for the activities they conducted in their respective colleges as a support to the university-wide celebration. They were referred to as the “apostles” of the Foundation Week preparation and celebration.
Dr. Armee N. Rosel, Vice President for Research and Extension Services, was also awarded particularly for the Indigenous Peoples Photo Exhibit launching held on October 17.
Meanwhile, Dr. Glenard T. Madriaga, Vice President for Administration and Finance, was commended for the provision of overall logistics. He was also recognized for coming up with the themes for the Foundation Week celebrations since 2016.
Also, Dr. Erwin P. Lacanlale, the youngest among the vice presidents, received a commendation as the overall in-charge of the celebration.
In her message prior to the awarding, President Mallari made a reference to the prayer of Mr. Roel Alviar, Chairperson of the Criminology Department, as to the rationale of the commendations saying, “We have our obligations and we are placed where we are for a reason.”
The Foundation and Universityhood Celebration commenced on October 13 and concluded on October 19.
