TSU is top 1 in AACCUP’s Level IV ‘retained’ program accreditation, QA director bags ‘quality advocate’ award

Tarlac State University continues to set the standard for quality assurance after being named top 1 in the "Level IV (retained)" category of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc.

The award recognizes TSU as the top-performing higher education institution with the highest number of accredited programs with Level IV retained status in 2024.

Among the programs that maintained the Level IV status are Master of Arts in Education (MAED) major in Educational Management, Technology and Livelihood Education, and Mathematics; Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED); Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED); Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED); Doctor of Public Administration; and Master of Public Administration.

The accrediting body formally presented the award today (March 7) during the culminating activity of the 38th AACCUP Annual National Conference and General Assembly at the Marikina State Polytechnic College.

Representing the university in the awarding are TSU President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg, Office of Quality Assurance Director Dr. Niño B. Corpuz, and OQA Assistant Director Dr. Ma. Socorro D. Valdez.

Adding to this significant milestone, Dr. Corpuz was honored as one of the first recipients of the Manuel T. Corpus Quality Advocate Award 2025.

Named after AACCUP's founder, Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, the newly established recognition is the highest honor for performance excellence in accreditation and quality assurance in public higher education.

The award is given to QA advocates who have successfully implemented quality management systems in their institutions.

Apart from receiving the awards, TSU officials also attended the three-day annual national conference from March 5 to 7, with the theme "Elevate, Empower and Expand QA in Higher Education." (jlmm-OPA)
