The 1st TSU Research Bootcamp 2022, with the theme “Sama- sama tungo sa isang Maginhawa at Matatag na Komunidad” was held on May 5,6,12,13 and June 1 at the Alumni Center, TSU Lucinda Campus wherein a total of 54 faculty members from the different colleges attended and participated.
The event highlighted the talks of Dr. Nilo T. Bugtai and Dr. Noralene Uy. Dr. Bugtai, a Full Professor at the De La Salle University, talked about conducting multidisciplinary research on responsive health system and also exhibited their works focusing on biomedical engineering. Dr. Uy, a faculty member at the Ateneo de Manila University talked about conducting multidisciplinary research on environmental management and disaster risk reduction. Day 2 included the talk of Dr. Marie Paz Morales, a Professor at the Philippine Normal University, about research methodologies. For the last day, Dr. Dennis Cantre, a faculty member at the UP Los Baños, discussed about the logical framework. Other topics included in the event were discussed by some of the TSU faculty researchers.
As outputs of the event, participants presented their research proposals in front of a set of competent evaluators. There was a total of 18 research proposals presented during the last day. The set of evaluators consist of the Vice President for Research and Extension Services, Directors and Chairperson of the offices under the OVPRES, college deans representing the Council of Deans. The Chief Finance Officer, as well as the Head of the Procurement Unit were also invited to grace the event.
The TSU Research Bootcamp 2022 is a five- day activity that aims to provide an intensive training for the faculty members and encourage them to engage in multidisciplinary research that are aligned to the least prioritized research agenda in the university.
